The Tale of Two Clients and One Exhibit System.

A few weeks ago I was working with a client who saw a particular backwall exhibit and wanted just that one.   She asked me to quote it out for her and that it had to be that particular system.
This system is a newer system and I had not heard anything about it yet so I took some time and did my research.  I contacted my peeps and got some pretty negative feedback from all of them. #1- new system alert: trade show exhibits take a lot of abuse, how will it last. #2-rendering only: the system she picked out was in a rendering only. No one had actually put one together to see how it worked.  #3- physics: things have got to follow the rules of nature.
I did something I rarely do, I called her back and told her I would not be able to provide the system for her.  Why?  I stand behind my products I sell and this system was just to far out there for me to work with.  I was 95% sure that she would have been severely unhappy with the system in the long run.  These exhibits are too expensive to buy shoddy hardware.
Another client emailed shortly after and sent a picture of the same system to a coworker.  But this client said "I want something that looks like this, we trust you, find me a good system".
We have a great system that is almost identical but is cost effective and durable.

I haven't heard from my client yet.  She should be recieving her new system later this month.  I hope I was wrong and she is happy with the purchase.

I will learn a lesson here either way.  It was a judgement call on my end about the integrity of a product.  I will follow up and let you know what happens.
